Position Overview
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing predictive models and unified insights across our television portfolio. Your primary focus will be on viewership forecasting in collaboration with addressable pricing teams within Research, Insights, and Estimation to maximize advertising sales revenue and support our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business unit's profitability.
This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable managing end-to-end projects—from ETL processes and predictive modeling to data visualization and business intelligence reporting. You will bring creativity and efficiency to code writing and data exploration while building strong relationships across various segments and stakeholders through effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality & Management
Interpret raw data from multiple sources into meaningful and actionable insights for data-driven decision-making with automated pipelines handling ETL processes
Serve as an expert on internal and external data sources, ensuring data quality and reliability as a trusted source of truth
Identify and raise data irregularities, developing workarounds and solutions to maintain data integrity
Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and improve overall data architecture
Predictive Modeling & Statistical Analysis
Design and develop new predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques to forecast and project customer engagement across arenaflex platforms
Build models that support multiple KPIs including viewership, engagement, retention, and revenue metrics
Analyze drivers of change when interpreting forecasts and implement improvements to enhance forecast accuracy
Stay current with emerging statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to continuously improve model performance
Conduct A/B testing and statistical experiments to validate model assumptions and business hypotheses
Business Intelligence & Visualization
Build visualizations and interfaces to communicate results to business stakeholders in an accessible, sustainable, and automated manner
Analyze data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create a common understanding of digital media consumption
Develop interactive dashboards and reports that empower leadership to make informed strategic decisions
Translate complex technical findings into clear business recommendations for non-technical audiences
Leadership & Collaboration
Partner closely with business stakeholders, particularly addressable pricing teams within Research, Insights, and Estimation
Identify opportunities to drive value through data-driven insights and collaborate with other data teams to improve modeling capabilities
Work with testing platforms and data visualization tools to enhance analytical infrastructure
Serve as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing

Process Improvement & Innovation
Drive innovation by researching new statistical methods and brainstorming ways to enhance the existing forecasting and reporting infrastructure

Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
Advanced degree preferred but not required
Experience
Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in data science, predictive analytics, or business intelligence
Proven experience with end-to-end data science project lifecycle
Demonstrated success in building and deploying predictive models in production environments
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and manipulation
Strong proficiency in Python including libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn for data analysis and modeling
Experience with ETL, data pipeline management, and cloud infrastructure for handling large datasets (e.g., AWS, PySpark, Snowflake, Airflow, Databricks)
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms)
Experience designing and implementing predictive models including generalized linear models, time series analysis, decision trees, and ensemble methods
Experience working with Git for version control and collaborative development
Knowledge of big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks
