What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll be at the forefront of our data-driven initiatives, applying sophisticated quantitative methods to solve real-world business challenges. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions and help shape the future of our customer experience, operational efficiency, and healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities


Build Advanced Models and Tools: Leverage your expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability theory, and decision science to develop cutting-edge analytical solutions. Stay current with emerging methodologies and continuously innovate by adopting new modeling techniques and best practices.

Translate Business Complexity into Actionable Insights: Dive deep into large datasets to understand the underlying business context. Develop meaningful analytics solutions that address real organizational challenges and drive measurable business value.

Apply Rigorous Statistical Analysis: Utilize advanced statistical techniques including predictive modeling, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, and data mining. Create recommendation and optimization algorithms, perform data retrieval, complexity analysis, and scientific computing to extract maximum value from our data assets.

Program with Modern Tech Stack: Work with Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other industry-standard tools to build robust, scalable solutions that meet our evolving analytical needs.

Implement Machine Learning Techniques: Apply both supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms to build predictive models and prescriptive solutions that support diverse business use cases across the organization.

Develop Sophisticated Algorithms: Build and implement decision trees, regression models, XGBoost, K-means clustering, anomaly detection systems, and more. Apply interpretable machine learning and Bayesian theory to deliver transparent, trustworthy solutions.

Leverage Cloud Computing: Utilize Azure and Databricks platforms for cloud-based machine learning development. Query and manage data in Snowflake environments to ensure efficient data handling at scale.

Employ Software Engineering Best Practices: Use GitHub for version control, implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and follow agile methodologies to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions.

Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with finance teams, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support. Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams.

Communicate Effectively: Present technical findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, from technical experts to business stakeholders. Translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.


What We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a passion for solving complex problems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and be excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Essential Qualifications


Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field, with a minimum of four years of experience in data science, machine learning, or quantitative analytics. Alternatively, a High School diploma/GED with at least seven years of relevant experience may be considered.

Advanced Degree Preferred: M.S. in STEM, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Information Science, Machine Learning, or a similar technical discipline.

Experience Requirements: At least four years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create and optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, or other programming languages commonly used in data science and machine learning applications.

Analytical Capabilities: Expert-level ability in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, pattern detection, distribution analysis, visualization, and insight extraction to support informed business decisions.

Machine Learning Expertise: Hands-on experience with decision trees and classifier construction, as well as supervised learning techniques (linear and logistic regression, time series modeling, generalized linear models, decision trees, support vector machines) and unsupervised learning techniques (K-means, hierarchical clustering, association rules, principal components).

Cloud and Distributed Computing: Experience with cloud ML systems, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores, and serving engines.

Experimental Design: Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments to drive data-informed product and process improvements.

Communication Skills: Advanced ability to convey rigorous technical concepts and issues to non-technical audiences. Experience effectively communicating technical solutions to data scientists, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

Business Acumen: At least two years of experience contributing to financial decisions within the organization. Experience operating in dynamic environments, managing ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results under pressure.

Leadership Capabilities: At least two years of experience in direct leadership, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team management.

Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, both domestically and internationally.


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced Degree: Ph.D. in STEM, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Information Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a similar technical discipline.

Specialized Experience: Experience working with IoT and Edge AI technologies.

Cutting-Edge Skills: Experience in Reinforcement Learning.

Industry Knowledge: Experience in the healthcare industry is a significant plus.
