Job Summary
The Senior Data Scientist will provide technical leadership and vision for the data science team, focusing on Omni-Channel analysis across both physical and digital platforms. Your expertise in data analysis, predictive modeling, and technical skills will enable you to drive significant insights and inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and set strategic vision and direction for the data science team, focused on Omni-Channel analysis across both physical and digital platforms
Lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with analysts, technical partners, and business leaders to establish a roadmap for improvement based on business needs
Translate business requirements into precise product specifications to guide development
Lead solution design meetings, aligning strategies to business drivers, challenges, and long-term objectives
Design efficient data pipelines to address business problems, utilizing technical tools and retail systems
Establish and implement Data Science team best practices and lead code reviews for colleagues
Create compelling visuals, charts, and graphs that resonate with data, tailoring them to various audiences
Utilize advanced analytical techniques (regression, machine learning, clustering) to drive significant insights


Essential Qualifications

2+ years of experience developing analytical, statistical, or machine learning models to extract insights and address business challenges, ideally in a retail setting
Expertise in web analytics and customer segmentation using data to drive informed decisions and improve online experiences
Proven ability to lead small teams in rapid and accurate data analysis, feature definition, and creative problem-solving for business challenges
Skilled in working on complex problems, creating data-driven stories for guidance
Cloud platform/tech expertise
Proficiency in machine learning or artificial intelligence methods
Ability in root cause analysis and underlying driver analysis
Successful in fast-paced, changing environments


Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of different project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum)
Excellent interpersonal skills for effective team and individual interaction
Proficiency in various data technology areas, including:

Data pipelines and ETL tools (e.g., SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep)
Database platforms, including Snowflake and SQL Server
Scripting languages (e.g., Snowscript, JavaScript, VBA, Python)
Statistical and Data Science languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python for Data Science)
Utilization of machine learning techniques


Experience with advanced analytical techniques (e.g., regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, Random Forest, Bagging, Boosting, Time Series)
