Position Overview
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our growing Data Sciences team. In this role, you will be responsible for initiating and helping launch GenAI features, developing unified GenAI tools and services, and building organizational capabilities around Generative AI. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about artificial intelligence and machine learning to make their mark in the retail industry.

As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will work closely with a team of product designers and engineers to ensure optimal scaling and adoption of GenAI features. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing at-scale GenAI infrastructure architectures, prompt engine development, determining optimal model selection strategies, and creating continuous monitoring and evaluation tools. This position offers the chance to work on the bleeding edge of AI technology while solving real business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

GenAI Development: Initiate and help launch Generative AI features, working with cross-functional teams to bring innovative AI solutions to market
Infrastructure Design: Design and develop scalable GenAI infrastructure architectures that can handle enterprise-level workloads
Prompt Engineering: Develop and optimize prompt engines for various GenAI applications
Model Selection: Determine optimal model selection strategies based on business requirements and technical constraints
Monitoring & Evaluation: Create continuous monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure AI system performance and quality
Tool Development: Develop unified tools and services to evaluate and control GenAI model output quality across the enterprise
Research & Innovation: Stay current with emerging trends in the AI/ML industry and leverage expertise in building AI/deep learning solutions
Model Customization: Fine-tune pre-trained GenAI models when required to meet specific business needs
Code Quality: Follow Agile principles, adhere to best-practice programming design, participate in code reviews, and maintain a well-tested codebase with comprehensive documentation
Knowledge Sharing: Lead training sessions, present work to technical and non-technical peers, and build knowledge of business needs and key objectives
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively across geographies with team members and stakeholders


Required Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in quantitative disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience. A Master's or PhD in a quantitative field is preferred
Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience or equivalent industry experience in data science or related field
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on programming skills in Python, with knowledge of SQL, Hadoop/Hive, Spark, and/or Scala
ML/AI Expertise: Experience designing and developing deep learning, machine learning, optimization, and statistical models
Mathematical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts, algorithms, and computational complexity
Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical thinking abilities with a passion for solving complex problems
Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to real business challenges using data science approaches
Communication: Ability to create reports and stories presenting meaningful insights with excellent communication skills
Storytelling: Strong ability to tell data-driven stories through appropriate visualizations, charts, and narratives
Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Teamwork: Strong collaborative spirit with the ability to work effectively across geographies and with diverse teams


Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a quantitative field
Experience developing GenAI-based systems
Demonstrated expertise in applied machine learning and deep learning techniques
Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing
Knowledge of cloud platforms and their AI/ML services
Experience with MLOps practices and model deployment
