Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement complex data science models and algorithms using technical expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability, and decision theory.
Understand the business context behind large datasets and develop meaningful analytic solutions to drive business decisions.
Apply analytical rigor and statistical techniques to analyze vast amounts of data, using advanced statistical methods such as predictive modeling, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, and data mining.
Program using tech stack Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc., and utilize Cloud Computing on Azure/Databricks, querying in Snowflake.
Perform machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised algorithms, to build predictive models and prescriptive solutions to support various business use cases.
Build algorithms such as decision trees, regression, XGBoost, K means, and anomaly detection, and interpret results to inform business decisions.
Collaborate with finance, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support.
Communicate complex technical insights and recommendations to business stakeholders and management teams, both verbally and in writing.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational capabilities, or High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in the same field.
M.S. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
At least 4 years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create/optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, or other programming languages.
Advanced skill in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, detecting patterns, learning distributions, visualizing results, and extracting insights to support business decisions.
Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, including linear and logistic regression, time series modeling, decision trees, and clustering.
Experience with Cloud ML platforms, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores, and serving engines.
Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments.
Advanced skill in communicating technical concepts and insights to non-experts.
Experience working in dynamic environments, prioritizing needs, and delivering results.
At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions within the workplace.
At least 2 years of direct management, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership.
Willingness to travel up to at least 10% of the time for business purposes (domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Experience working with IoT and Edge AI is a plus.
Experience in Reinforcement Learning is a plus.
Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
