For more information, visit www.lulacommerce.com Role Overview: Data is the lifeblood of modern retail, yet most convenience retailers lack access to the analytics and insights that major chains take for granted. As our Senior Data Product Manager, you'll democratize data intelligence for thousands of enterprise and independent retailers while building the internal data infrastructure that powers our rapid growth. This role uniquely combines internal data platform ownership with customer-facing product development. You'll build analytics products that help store owners understand their business in real-time, district managers optimize across locations, and CPG brands measure campaign effectiveness—all while ensuring our internal teams have the metrics and insights needed to scale efficiently. Key Responsibilities: • Define and own the data strategy across all Lula products and services • Build and maintain comprehensive metrics frameworks for product, sales, customer success, and operations teams • Establish data governance standards ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability • Partner with engineering to design scalable data architecture supporting millions of daily transactions • Create self-service analytics capabilities reducing dependency on engineering resources • Build intuitive dashboards and reporting tools for multiple personas (store managers, district managers, franchisees, category managers) • Develop predictive analytics features helping retailers forecast demand, optimize inventory, and prevent stockouts • Create benchmarking tools allowing stores to compare performance against similar locations • Design ROI calculators and attribution models proving the value of digital channels • Leverage data integrations with POS systems, inventory management platforms, and third-party data source • Partner with AI teams to productize machine learning models for demand forecasting, price optimization, and anomaly detection • Optimize & operationalize data for use in AI/ML use cases • Build recommendation engines for product assortment and promotional strategies • Create automated insights that proactively surface opportunities and risks • Develop experimentation platforms enabling A/B testing across store networks • Train customer success teams on data products and best practices • Create documentation and educational content helping retailers become more data-driven • Present insights and recommendations to enterprise clients and executive stakeholders • Gather feedback and iterate on data products based on user needs Qualifications: • 5+ years of product management experience with significant focus on data/analytics products • Proven track record building both internal and external-facing data products • Strong technical background with ability to work closely with data engineers and scientists • Experience with modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake/BigQuery, Looker/Tableau, etc.) • Understanding of retail metrics, e-commerce analytics, or marketplace dynamics • Excellent storytelling skills—ability to translate complex data into actionable insights • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development • Understanding of statistical analysis and experimentation methodologies • Experience with product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment, etc.) • Knowledge of data visualization best practices and tools • Exposure to machine learning concepts and applications • Data Democratizer: Passionate about making data accessible to non-technical users • Truth Seeker: Obsessed with data accuracy and fighting vanity metrics • Business Impact Focused: Every metric and dashboard must drive real decisions • Scalability Minded: Build solutions that work for 10 stores and 10,000 stores • AI-Forward: Excited about integrating ML/AI insights into everyday workflows • Experience in retail tech, CPG, or supply chain analytics • Background in marketplace or multi-sided platform businesses • Knowledge of convenience store operations and economics • Familiarity with franchise business models • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming analytics Impact You'll Have • Empower Retailers: Give independent store owners the same data superpowers as major chains • Drive Growth: Your insights will directly impact $100M+ in GMV decisions • Enable Scale: Build the data foundation supporting our expansion to 10,000+ stores • Create Competitive Advantage: Transform data from a cost center to a revenue driver • Shape Industry Standards: Define how convenience retail thinks about and uses data Why Join Lula Commerce: • Massive Market Opportunity: Help capture share of an $890B market that's just beginning digital transformation • Proven Traction: Join a company with strong product-market fit, serving over 2,000 locations. • Impact: Your work will directly help retailers compete and thrive in the digital age • Culture: Work with a team of proven leaders from Uber Eats, Otter, Casey's, Amazon, Comcast, and other industry leaders Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive salary • Meaningful equity participation • Flexible remote work environment • Access to the latest tech tools and stack Ready to help transform the digital backbone of retail?
