Leverage cloud-based platforms (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure) and Hadoop ecosystems to design and optimize data pipelines, ensuring scalability and performance. Develop data warehouses and data models to support Information Science and other internal stakeholders, ensuring data quality and accessibility. Analyze current technology environments to identify skill gaps and recommend solutions, driving innovation and process improvements. Experiment with new tools and technologies to determine the best fit for specific business requirements, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements. Essential Qualifications To succeed as a Senior Data Engineer at Aetna, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering. 2+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering, with a strong background in designing and implementing data architectures and pipelines. 2+ years of experience with SQL, with a strong understanding of database concepts and data modeling. 2+ years of experience with Python, with a strong proficiency in programming languages and software development. Experience with cloud-based platforms (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure), with a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and migration strategies. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark, with a strong understanding of big data processing and analytics. Experience with reporting tools (Tableau), with a strong understanding of data visualization and business intelligence. Knowledge of the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of healthcare data and analytics.
