About the Role As a Senior Data Engineer at DICK'S Sporting Goods, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our data warehouse, ETL processes, and business intelligence systems. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including product teams, data scientists, and decision-makers, to deliver high-quality data solutions that inform business decisions. Your expertise will help us create a robust data foundation that enables our teams to drive business growth, improve customer experiences, and make data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data warehouses, ETL processes, and business intelligence systems * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and develop solutions that meet business requirements * Build efficient and scalable data pipelines to enable data-driven decisions across the organization * Develop strong subject matter expertise and manage SLAs for data pipelines * Participate in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of data engineering across the organization * Troubleshoot and monitor data pipelines to ensure high-quality data delivery * Work closely with production engineering teams to manage data structures as our product evolves Technical Skills * Expert-level knowledge of SQL and/or SQL-based languages, with a strong understanding of performance tuning * Strong experience with data warehousing techniques, including Normalized/Dimensional model disciplines * Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Scala, C++, Java, Go, or Kotlin * Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, such as Snowflake, Big Query, Synapse, or RedShift * Strong grasp of data management principles, including Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Catalog, and Data Quality * Experience with ETL/ELT concepts, data integration, consolidation, enrichment, and aggregation in petabyte-scale data sets * Familiarity with message queuing, stream processing, and orchestration tools What We Offer * Competitive salary: $83,000 - $138,200 per year, depending on experience and location * Comprehensive benefits package, including incentive, equity, and benefits * Opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share a passion for sports and data innovation * Collaborative and dynamic work environment that encourages growth and learning * Flexible remote work arrangement * Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools * Professional development opportunities, including training and mentorship programs Why Join Our Team? * Be part of a company that's revolutionizing the sports industry with data-driven solutions * Work with a talented team of professionals who share a passion for sports and data innovation * Enjoy a collaborative and dynamic work environment that encourages growth and learning * Take advantage of flexible remote work arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package Qualifications * 5+ years of experience in data warehousing and development using data technologies such as Relational & NoSQL databases, open data formats, and building data pipelines (ETL and ELT) with batch or streaming ingestion, loading, and transforming data * Expert-level knowledge of SQL and/or SQL-based languages, with a strong understanding of performance tuning * Strong experience with data warehousing techniques, including Normalized/Dimensional model disciplines * Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Scala, C++, Java, Go, or Kotlin * Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, such as Snowflake, Big Query, Synapse, or RedShift * Strong grasp of data management principles, including Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Catalog, and Data Quality How to Apply If you're a motivated and talented Senior Data Engineer looking to join a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply!
