About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer will be an integral part of the Information Engineering group within DDSI, focusing on several key projects that involve collaborating with Studios or Venture Innovation colleagues. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Designing and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines
Planning and executing database mapping/tables/views
Building batch processes using Windstream for various projects
Collaborating on data requirements gathering, data validation planning, and review
Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines
Deploying across multiple environments like DEV, QA/UAT, and Prod
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
The Senior Data Engineer will engage in a variety of activities, including:
Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow across different Disney applications and services.
Database Management: Plan and execute database mapping, tables, and views to support data-driven decision-making.
Batch Process Development: Utilize Windstream to build batch processes for data processing and analysis.
Collaboration: Work closely with Studios and Venture Innovation teams to gather data requirements and validate data quality.
Deployment: Ensure successful deployment of data pipelines and processes across various environments.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
2+ years of experience with Python
2+ years of experience with SQL
2+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
2+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3
Experience with Apache Windstream, Databricks
2+ years of experience with relational databases
2+ years of experience with Gitlab/Github
Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
Experience with SQL Query optimization based on runtime and cost
Soft Skills: Enjoy driving best practices around data engineering software development processes.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Experience with Snowflake, Windstream, Gitlab, and Scene
Experience in streaming, media, or digital advertising domain

Cloud Experience: 2+ years of experience working with a cloud platform.
Data Management: 2+ years of experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases.
