We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer - Data Analytics to join our dynamic team in Seattle, USA. About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for the end-to-end data pipeline lifecycle that powers our analytics, business intelligence, and advanced data services. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and operationalizing robust data infrastructure that serves as the foundation for actionable insights across the organization.

This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and collaborative skills. You will work closely with data architects, data scientists, business intelligence engineers, and product owners to transform raw data into reliable, accessible information that drives strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities


Pipeline Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and quality assurance processes that support reporting and advanced analytics initiatives.
ETL/ELT Implementation: Develop and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes using industry-leading tools, ensuring efficient and reliable data flow between systems.
Cloud Data Solutions: Leverage Azure services including Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Synapse), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to build scalable data processing platforms.
Data Modeling Collaboration: Work alongside data modelers to create and maintain robust data models that support business requirements and ensure data consistency across the organization.
Quality & Reliability: Identify and implement strategies to improve data reliability, efficiency, and overall data quality management practices.
Process Automation: Automate manual processes and optimize data delivery mechanisms to improve operational efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, data pipelines, and technical specifications.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance, resource utilization, and implement optimization strategies as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams, product owners, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to peer reviews of data engineering work.
Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders both verbally and in writing.


Technical Skills & Competencies Required

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong proficiency in the following areas:


Data Pipeline Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large, complex datasets.
Informatica Expertise: Hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) is essential.
Data Modeling & Warehousing: Strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Cloud Technologies: Extensive experience with Azure cloud services including ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Databricks Live Tables, Spark, Azure Synapse, and other big data technologies.
Database Knowledge: Deep understanding of various database storage concepts including data lakes, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph databases, and traditional data warehousing solutions.
Data Integration: Strong grasp of data integration techniques and tools for handling diverse data sources.
Programming & SQL: Solid foundation in programming concepts with advanced SQL skills; ability to write complex SQL queries across multiple data sources.
Data Sources: Experience working with multiple data sources including SQL databases, Oracle databases, flat files (CSV, delimited formats), Web APIs, and XML.
Agile Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call rotation as needed.


Preferred Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technology experience.
Azure certifications are highly desirable.
Experience implementing event/message-based integration using technologies like Kafka or Azure Event Hub.
Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps practices.
Experience delivering data solutions through agile software development methodologies.
Exposure to the retail industry is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with SAP integration tools including Boomi.
Knowledge of UC4 Job Scheduler.
