As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our data-driven culture. You will design and deliver analytics solutions that make data analysis easier, more effective, and more accessible across the organization. What You'll Do

The Senior Data Engineer position is central to our data infrastructure strategy. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex data challenges while mentoring others and driving best practices across the team. Here's what you can expect in this role:

Core Responsibilities


Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and maintain analytics solutions that provide actionable insights for better decision-making
Lead data migration and data engineering initiatives using Azure products and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and traditional data warehouse tools
Perform multiple aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud engineering (infrastructure, networking, security, and governance), ingestion, preparation, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, deployment, usage, BI, alarming, and nudge support
Provide technical leadership and collaborate effectively within team environments while also demonstrating independence in problem-solving and project execution
Participate as a fully integrated member of a DevOps team that owns and supports their products end-to-end
Implement both batch and streaming data pipelines using modern cloud technologies
Drive improvement of coding standards, best practices, and data protection and security guidelines across the organization
Mentor other team members on technical and domain-specific skills to create multi-functional, high-performing teams
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning
Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards


Technical Focus Areas


Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines on Azure cloud infrastructure
Designing and implementing data models that support business intelligence and analytics requirements
Optimizing data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
Implementing real-time and batch processing solutions
Establishing data governance frameworks and best practices


What You'll Need for Success

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
3 years of programming solution development using agile and DevOps methodologies, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
3 years of data analysis experience using SQL


Required Technical Skills:


Scripting: Python, Scala, Unix, SQL
Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake
Azure Data Explorer: Strong proficiency required
Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Azure Functions
CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform
BI Analysis Tools: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana
Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica
Data Governance and Protection: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID


Preferred Qualifications

Additional Experience:


3+ years of programming solution development using agile and DevOps methodologies in a product model
3+ years of data analysis experience using SQL
3+ years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure
3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure), including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Power BI
Previous experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus


Preferred Certifications:


Azure Development Track Certification (preferred)
Scala Certification (preferred)
Other relevant cloud and data engineering certifications
