About This Role

This position is part of the Data Engineering and Analytics team within our Technology group. You'll bring your data engineering, collaboration, and analytical skills to help grow a data-driven culture by designing and delivering analytics solutions that make data analysis easier and more effective for arenaflex.

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll work at the intersection of technology and business, creating the data infrastructure that powers critical decision-making across our organization. You'll collaborate with talented professionals across multiple disciplines and have the opportunity to mentor others while continuing to grow your own technical expertise.

What You'll Do

This role is designed to reflect the current position, though there may be additional essential qualifications (and certainly non-essential work functions) that are not mentioned. Management will modify the job or require different assignments to be performed whenever considered appropriate, noting any legal obligations including any collective bargaining commitments.


Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide insights for better decision-making
Execute data migration and data engineering solutions using Azure products and services: Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Center, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and more
Perform various aspects connected to the development lifecycle – planning, cloud engineering (infrastructure, networking, security, and governance), ingestion, deployment, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, solutions, usage, BI, alerting, and support
Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently
Be part of a DevOps team that totally owns and supports their product
Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies
Drive improvement of coding standards, best practices, and protection and security rules
Coach others on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional teams


What You'll Need for Success

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Prior Work Experience:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
3 years of programming solution development using agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
3 years of data analysis experience using SQL
2 years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure) including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI


Required Technical Skills:

Combination of Development, Deployment, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms:


Scripting: Python, Scala, Unix, SQL
Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake
Azure Data Explorer – Network skills a plus
Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, Azure Functions
CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform
BI Investigation Tool Stack: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana
Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica
Data Governance and Security: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID


Preferred Qualifications


5+ years of programming solution development using agile, DevOps, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
5+ years of data analysis experience using SQL
3+ years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure
3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure) including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI
Airline Industry Experience


Skills, Licenses, and Certifications


Proficiency with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and creating usage layers
Proficiency in providing functional direction within Azure Native cloud services
Azure Development Track Certification (preferred)
Scala Accreditation (preferred)

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
