About the Role As a Senior Data Engineer at blithequark, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale data architectures, developing ETL processes, and building data pipelines that support our business and data science needs. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop large-scale data architectures and pipelines to integrate, process, and normalize data from various sources. Create ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, design database frameworks, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytical processing. Collaborate with data science teams to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes. Utilize cloud-based platforms (GCDM preferred, AWS or Azure) and Hadoop to design and optimize queries for building data pipelines. Develop robust data pipelines and dynamic systems using programming languages like Python. Build data warehouses and data models to support Information Science and other internal clients, ensuring data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions. Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to determine the optimal solution given the requirements driven by the data model/use case. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.). 5+ years of relevant work experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing large-scale data architectures. 5+ years of experience with SQL and database management. 5+ years of experience with programming languages like Python. Experience with Cloud-based platforms (GCDM preferred, AWS or Azure). Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark. Experience with reporting tools like Tableau.
