Senior Data / Business Intelligence Engineer

Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Act as a Data/BI Power User and Data Consumer, working with business units to understand requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
ā¢ Serve as a business-technology liaison, ensuring alignment between strategic business goals and data-driven deliverables.
ā¢ Own, support, and deliver the full data lifecycle, including requirement gathering, data design, modeling, development, testing, deployment, and optimization.
ā¢ Develop advanced SQL queries and design data models for both SQL and NoSQL repositories.
ā¢ Build, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and analytics using Power BI and other BI tools such as Tableau and Alteryx.
ā¢ Utilize data transformation and manipulation tools such as Python and Alteryx to streamline workflows and enhance analytical capabilities.
ā¢ Work within Azure cloud environments, contributing to cloud-based data architecture, storage, and pipeline solutions.
ā¢ Apply DataOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and monitoring of data pipelines.
ā¢ Collaborate within Agile development environments, using tools like JIRA to plan and execute sprints and iterative releases.
ā¢ Leverage understanding of machine learning and AI concepts to support advanced analytics initiatives.
ā¢ Apply data engineering vocabulary and architectural principles to support scalable, secure, and reliable data systems.
ā¢ Execute project planning and delivery using established project management methodologies.
Required Qualifications
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, IT, Business, or equivalent work/educational experience.
ā¢ Proven experience as a Data/BI power user with strong analytical, visualization, and data consumption skills.
ā¢ Demonstrated ability to act as a business liaison, delivering both strategic and tactical solutions.
ā¢ Advanced proficiency in SQL, including SQL/NoSQL data modeling techniques.
ā¢ Advanced experience with business intelligence and data discovery tools, including Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx.
ā¢ Strong understanding of Cloud Computing, specifically Azure.
ā¢ Familiarity with machine learning and AI technologies.
ā¢ Experience with DataOps, data engineering terminology, and modern data architecture.
ā¢ Experience in Agile environments with tools such as JIRA.
Strong ability to plan, schedule, and implement projects following standard project management practices.
