Senior Counsel – Corporate & Commercial

About the position Responsibilities • Provide Effective Legal Services. • Generate qualitatively superior legal analysis, work product, and advice. • Provide legal advice and services that are relevant, practical, and meaningful to business units. • Become an integral partner to the Company's business units, understanding business strategies and commercial objectives. • Support the Company's mergers and acquisitions activities as well as day-to-day operating contracting efforts. • Work creatively and proactively with legal colleagues and the Company's business units to identify opportunities for commercially advantageous risk allocation in contracts. • Identify and implement proactive approaches to counseling business units on competition law and related topics, including statutory and regulatory obligations and compliance. • Be an active and creative participant in the Law Organization's legal training program. • Manage complex litigation and effectively partner with clients to develop, evaluate, and implement a litigation strategy. • Assist and support the Law Organization in a fast-paced and collegial corporate legal environment. Requirements • JD degree from an accredited US law school. • 10-15+ years of experience preferred. • Demonstrated antitrust and competition law experience required. • 3+ years' experience as in-house or transactional counsel is preferred. Nice-to-haves • Legal experience in commodity trading and commercial transactions. • Legal experience in mergers and acquisitions.
