Job Description

PURPOSE

We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant with experience in managed care health and payor operations. This would include health plans, PBMs, TPAs, behavioral health and/or other ancillary managed care entities. This position is ideal for a mid-level consultant that has a passion for working with clients to understand their challenges, adapt to the unique situation of the client, and develop solutions. The incumbent will work within a team environment to analyze and compile client insights in order to deliver business solutions, operational and/or technology assessments, and strategic roadmaps.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Delivery
• Quickly learn the client’s business and determine the specific project needs for effective and timely execution
• Effectively manage a variety of tasks while delivering accurate, complete, and high-quality work to our clients
• Exhibit the flexibility and professionalism to work in a variety of client-related settings, including interfacing with client staff through C-level executives
• Develop creative solutions to difficult problems and facilitate the implementation of those recommendations
• Assist the team with prioritization and issue and risk mitigation
• Generate consulting, solution-based deliverables based on analysis and data gathered from the client
• Interact with business stakeholders and clients to document business processes, synthesizing differing answers to questions, and read between the lines with respect to stakeholder input
• Support financial management of the consulting project

Internal Leadership
• Develop an understanding of Optimity Advisors’ service offerings, tools, and techniques to identify follow-up opportunities for future projects
• Mentor and train junior staff to understand client expectations and deliver accordingly

NECESSARY SKILLS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong active listening
• Aptitude for quick learning and subject matter expertise development
• Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to execute in high pressure environment
• Sound problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong MS Suite skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited university or college, in Healthcare, Business, or another closely related field
• 2 – 3 years of experience in management consulting for healthcare payor or managed care clients
• Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience leading and mentoring in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Experience in a client serving and management role
• Experience with project management tools
• Demonstrated career progression with increased responsibilities and mentorship
