Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Conduct ASHRAE Level II and III energy audits and prepare detailed written proposals for potential energy conservation upgrades, including cost and savings analyses. Lead and perform engineering tasks associated with complex projects, providing technical expertise and implementation recommendations to customers. Develop preliminary designs and estimates of cost and energy savings for projects involving various energy conservation measures. Oversee, review, and evaluate third-party design intents and submissions for cost reasonableness, savings, and constructability. Utilize knowledge of current lighting technologies to audit, design, and manage the implementation of prescribed measures in various construction types. Demonstrate leadership in safety, observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, and encouraging safe work behaviors. Participate in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies and issues in areas of company interest. Implement company project control processes to develop projects in accordance with established cost, schedule, and quality requirements. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the evaluation and implementation of energy conservation projects. The ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge and application of problem-solving approaches and engineering theory. Detailed knowledge of applicable construction standards and codes. Proficiency in computer-based applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project database applications. Knowledge of renewable and distributed generation solutions. The ability to apply project life cycle cost analyses. Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are highly preferred: A Mechanical Engineering Degree. A Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) designation. Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with all management levels. Eight or more years of Professional Engineering experience. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or LEED accreditation, or a path to obtain such registrations, certifications, or accreditations. Experience with load calculation and energy analyses modeling software programs, including EnergyPlus, eQuest, Trane Trace 3D, and solar PV evaluation tools. Planning, prioritizing, and goal-setting skills, managing multiple projects and using goals to guide actions. A commitment to quality, maintaining high standards despite pressing deadlines. Work Environment and Location This is a remote position based in Western Tennessee/Nashville area, with up to 40% travel required, concentrated in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Indiana areas. Occasional travel to Constellation offices will be required for team meetings as requested by leadership.
