It is pivotal that you exhibit strong negotiation tactics in addition to analytical, organizational, and investigative skills as you will be working with larger losses and represented claims. Building rapport and keeping in close contact with our insureds is a vital component to this role, along with outstanding customer service ability, as it will help ensure your continued success.Our insureds can submit their claim online or by phone, giving you the chance to provide support and solutions regarding structure damages ranging from daily water claims to total losses. This opportunity allows you to work closely with public adjusters, attorneys, and vendors alongside examining and appropriately interpreting policies. Here, you have the chance to help our customers navigate through their toughest times and educate them on their policy and extent of coverage.A day in the life could include: Examining and appropriately interpreting insureds’ policies, forms in force, and other records to determine coverage and extent of company’s liabilityDrafting, approving, and adjusting estimates of damage and loss amounts utilizing Xactimate and XactanalysisUsing varying methods of investigation, including taking recorded statements, consulting with police, fire departments inspecting property damage, and reviewing documentationEstimating cost of repair, replacement, or compensation alongside ensuring the adequacy of reservesWriting clear, concise diary notes, setting field assignments, setting and saving contacts, and issuing paymentsAppropriately applying knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelinesNegotiating with attorneys and/or public adjusters to achieve fair and equitable settlementsI’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?3+ years of first-party property claims adjusting working directly for a carrierDirect experience working with attorney and public adjuster represented claimsVendor management and negotiation experienceXactimate/Xactanalysis ability coupled with a strong technical acumen (Excel, Snapsheet, Slack, CRM systems)Customer service ability; you’ve worked closely with others and can see individuals through tough situationsBonus Points:You possess an understanding of the litigation process and prior deposition and/or mediation experienceYou understand Civil Remedy Notices (CRN) & Notices of Intent (NOI)Working knowledge of insurance laws, good faith, timelines, and compliance in multiple statesOh, and don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
