Job Summary As a Senior Commercial Casualty Production Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in underwriting and pricing new and renewal Commercial Casualty business within the E&S market. You'll work closely with producers to solicit new business, manage renewals, and ensure underwriting profitability across an assigned regional territory. Your exceptional analytical skills, business acumen, and interpersonal skills will enable you to drive growth, build strong relationships, and make informed underwriting decisions that drive business success. Key Responsibilities Risk Assessment and Underwriting: Assess individual risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for complex surplus lines commercial property and casualty policies. Business Development: Develop, analyze, and evaluate information to identify exposures and make well-informed underwriting decisions that drive new business opportunities. Producer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, assisting in client retention and achieving mutual business growth. Production and Loss Ratio Targets: Achieve established production and loss ratio targets for the assigned regional territory. Market Trends and Competitive Landscape: Maintain awareness of market trends and competitive landscape to drive new business opportunities and stay ahead of the competition. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building producer relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders. Essential Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of experience in Commercial Casualty underwriting, preferably in the surplus lines/E&S market. Production Underwriting and/or Territory Marketing: Must have Production Underwriting and/or Territory Marketing experience. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building producer relationships. Education: Bachelor's degree highly preferred. Preferred Qualifications Industry Certifications: Professional certifications in underwriting, such as CPCU or ARM, are a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in underwriting software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Business Development Experience: Experience in business development, marketing, or sales is desirable. Skills and Competencies Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions.
