Starting in 2022 Kinetic partnered with Nationwide to sell Workers Compensation insurance, where policyholders get our technology for free as part of their insurance policy.

Kinetic is based in New York city, but has workers based remotely in many geographic locations. At this stage, Kinetic has approximately 50 employees across groups ranging from software development to enterprise customer success to business development for insurance. Kinetic is starting to grow quickly due to the rapid growth in both its insurance product offering and enterprise sales, with 10x growth in just 2 years.

The Role

Kinetic is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to join our dynamic Insurance Operations team. In this role, you'll leverage your extensive expertise in Workers' Compensation claims to deliver exceptional customer service while managing claims for our policyholders. You'll play a key role in driving positive outcomes by identifying high-risk exposures, facilitating return-to-work opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to reduce policyholders' total cost of risk. As a senior team member, you'll also provide strategic insights, deliver client onboarding sessions, and support data-driven decision-making to improve injury recovery times and optimize claims processes.

What you'll do:
Β• Claims Management & Risk Mitigation
Β• Manage claims for Kinetic policyholders, including claim reviews, reserve analysis, and closure strategies to minimize policyholders' total cost of risk.
Β• Identify high-risk policyholders and collaborate with the Insurance Operations team to implement risk mitigation strategies.
Β• Facilitate return-to-work programs to reduce claim durations and improve injury recovery outcomes.
Β• Customer Service & Stakeholder Support
Β• Deliver best-in-class customer service to policyholders and internal teams to enhance claims processes and program effectiveness.
Β• Conduct client onboarding sessions, including training on Kinetic's product offerings and carrier portals, in cases where a Policyholder Success Manager is not assigned.
Β• Provide on-demand consultations to policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders to address claims-related concerns.
Β• Data Analysis & Reporting
Β• Update and maintain accurate records, reports, and applications to ensure data consistency.
Β• Analyze claims data and performance metrics, providing actionable insights to management.
Β• Team Collaboration & Special Projects
Β• Support product improvement initiatives by identifying gaps and opportunities for optimization.
Β• Lead or contribute to special projects that align with broader company goals.

What you've done:
Β• At least 5 years of Workers' Compensation claims experience, including managing lost time claims, litigated claims, and conduction loss reserve analyses
Β• Proven experience conducting claim reviews directly with policyholders and their agents
Β• Knowledge or experience with Return-to-Work protocols and programs
Β• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external customers
Β• Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
Β• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing and delivering presentations
Β• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members at all levels
Β• Proficiency in Google Suite (e.g. Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Β• Proficiency in creating pivot tables and charts in Google Sheets

Bonus points for:
Β• Experience working at an Insurtech company or MGA
Β• Experience plotting and visualizing data in a business intelligence platform such as Tableau or Looker
