Why We're Hiring

We’re growing fast! Over the past six months, we’ve doubled our supplier base. Last year, we grew GMV by 550%, and we’re on track to double it again this year.

We’re still a small team of seven, and this role will have a major impact. As our first Category Manager hire, you’ll help shape the function from the ground up. Until now, our CEO has managed the retail side, working across all categories. We're now building out dedicated category expertise to go deeper where we’re gaining traction—and become a trusted partner that buyers rely on.

We’re looking for someone who combines exceptional relationship-building skills, analytical depth, and relentless entrepreneurial energy to push faster, farther, and smarter.

Tasks

What You’ll Do

Leveraging GlobeCommerce’s proprietary software, you’ll serve as the strategic link between international suppliers and U.S. retailers. You’ll be responsible for taking enterprise-level global brands from 0 to 1 to 10 on the U.S. market. You will:
• Own the category P&L
• Define the brand and product mix
• Partner with international brand leaders to understand their capabilities and goals
• Lead strategy and drive omni-channel sales across retailers like Costco, Target, Walmart, and TJX

Requirements

• You’re a strong relationship builder who connects quickly and comfortably with people around the world
• You’re highly analytical, yet able to translate complex insights into clear, actionable strategies
• You’re entrepreneurial, fast-moving, and solutions-driven—constantly looking for better ways to do things
• You’ve successfully scaled multi-million-dollar businesses with major retailers
• You’re a natural leader who can manage a wide range of stakeholders—from export managers to executives, and buyers to GMMs
• You’re hands-on, willing to dive into the details and get things done, independently and as part of a small team
• You’re energized by growth—the challenge of building and expanding excites you
• You’re tech-savvy and able to collaborate closely with software engineers to develop tools that make life easier for both buyers and brand partners

Target Profile
• 8–15+ years of experience in retail, CPG, supply chain, or related fields
• Background as a buyer, merchant, category manager, vendor manager, product developer, sales director, management consultant, or entrepreneur
• Proven leadership experience
• Ability to travel occasionally for trade shows and retailer meetings
• Experience working in global, cross-cultural environments
