Job Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Level 3) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision making. This role focuses on building scalable Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and datasets while ensuring strong data governance and performance optimization.

The analyst will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and data architects to transform complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Intelligence Development
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models using Power Query and best-practice data modeling techniques.
• Develop scalable star-schema data models and reusable datasets to support enterprise reporting.
• Ensure dashboards and visualizations are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business improvement opportunities.

Data Management & Governance
• Implement BI best practices including documentation, version control, and data governance standards.
• Optimize Power BI datasets for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Validate data quality and consistency across all BI assets.
• Support governance standards related to dataset ownership, lifecycle management, and role-based access control.
• Establish best practices for dataset usage, reporting standards, and data stewardship.

Collaboration & Data Architecture
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
• Partner with data engineering teams to refine Snowflake schemas, pipelines, and performance optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with data architects to develop curated datasets, data dictionaries, and business glossaries.
• Support the development and management of a self-service analytics ecosystem.

Training & Enablement
• Develop train-the-trainer programs for power users, analysts, and business champions.
• Create training materials, documentation, and workshops for Power BI and Snowflake-based analytics tools.
• Mentor business teams on data interpretation, report building, and data-driven decision-making.
• Monitor BI adoption and continuously improve the self-service analytics environment.

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or data modeling roles.
• 5+ years of advanced Power BI experience, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
• 3+ years of strong SQL experience, including hands-on work with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms.
• 5+ years of experience supporting or designing self-service analytics environments.
• 2+ years of knowledge of enterprise information management processes, relational database systems, and metadata management.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while meeting deadlines and project deliverables.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of database structures and data modeling theories.
• Understanding of data governance regulations and PII compliance.
• Experience working on data-focused transformation projects, such as legacy system modernization or data migration initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
