As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a vital role in designing, building, testing, and maintaining the services and technology that power our insurance platform and customer experiences. You'll collaborate with internal and external partners to develop core systems, create APIs, and integrate with external services to manage payments, documents, and claims. Your expertise will help us drive systemic changes, implement best practices, and contribute to important architectural and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop core systems and create APIs
Build out internal tooling and APIs to streamline business and engineering processes
Implement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals
Integrate with external services to manage payments, documents, and claims
Provide subject matter expertise, mentorship, and support to team members
Contribute to architectural discussions and important operational decisions
Our Stack:
Backend/Core: Go, Temporal, and Postgresql
Frontend: Browser-based, VueJS, Webpack, Nuxt, and Tailwind
Research/Data Science: R, ArcGIS, H2O, and Python
Infrastructure: Google Cloud, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, and CloudSQL, managed with Terraform
Remote work tools: Slack, Zoom, and Donut
Requirements:
At least 4 years of professional experience developing backend web-stack applications
Professional experience with Go
Track record of creating improvements in business-critical systems around stability, performance, and scalability
Demonstrated ability to deliver complete systems from start to finish with little or no supervision
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
