Senior Backend Engineer, Core Platform

We’re looking for a senior-level backend engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Amsterdam.In this role, you’ll be responsible for bringing features to the finish line while collaborating closely with other developers, as well as with stakeholders on the Product, QA, Data, and Machine Learning teams, all with the goal of delivering seamless, delightful experiences for our customers.In this role you’llHelp build our products using microservices written in Typescript (using NestJS) and Ruby on Rails running over KubernetesWork on building a new solution for financial reportsLeverage our in-house autonomous tools to manage all development flow, from setting up our development environment to creating git branches and deploying services to productionCollaborate closely with the Product team, in a self-sufficient squad to achieve the squad’s OKRsBe the owner of your domain to ensure code quality, performance, and scalability of our productsCoach and mentor other developers and help them elevate their skillsWhat you’ll need5+ years working as a backend engineerExperience in billing and finance systems, strong DBs knowledge (major advantage)BSc in Computer Science or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)Experience working on high scale, production-grade projectsPast contributions to open-source projects are a plusAbility to work in an office environment a minimum of 3 days a weekAt Lemonade, we welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI, as a commitment to ongoing growth in this field is a fundamental part of our culture
