Senior Backend Developer & Architecture Engineer - (Spring Boot 3) (GCP / Azure / AWS) - remote

The Opportunity: Shape the Core of Our Platform We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to be a driving force in the evolution of our core platform. You won't just be writing code; you'll be a key contributor to the architectural decisions and implementations that will shape the future of our product. This isn't a maintenance role. You'll be taking ownership of new features from concept to deployment, tackling complex challenges in platform scalability and ensuring speed and excellence in our growing list of third‑party integrations. Tasks • Architect & Build: Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot 3 on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Own Features: Take full ownership of the entire development lifecycle for new platform features—from technical design and requirement clarification with product and support teams to testing and deployment. • Solve Complex Problems: Dive deep into business logic, tackle challenging API integrations (e.g., Shopify, Stripe), and build solutions that provide real value to our customers in the accounting and e-commerce domains. • Ensure Reliability: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production environments to ensure our platform is performant and reliable. • Collaborate & Mentor: Participate in code reviews, share your knowledge with the team, and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence. Requirements • 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong command of Java and the Spring Boot framework. Experience in AI Coding Tools & willingness to further drive AI Adoption in our Development process. • A Structured Mindset: You excel at breaking down complex problems, clarifying requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and designing clean, well‑architected solutions. • API Expertise: Deep experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, including complex third‑party integrations. • Cloud Proficiency: Hands‑on experience building and deploying applications on cloud platforms, preferably GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, PubSub, etc.). • Problem‑Solving Skills: Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding the root cause of an issue. • Strong Collaboration Skills: You communicate clearly and work effectively within a team‑oriented environment. You have experience with Git, continuous deployment pipelines (like Gitlab), and agile practices like monthly scope planning and regular code reviews.
