Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Aviation Safety and Compliance Manager to lead their safety program in a fully remote capacity. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust safety management system (SMS) that ensures compliance with all relevant aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA). The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of aviation safety principles, risk management techniques, and regulatory frameworks. You will be responsible for overseeing safety audits, incident investigations, hazard identification, and the implementation of corrective actions. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, and excellent communication capabilities, especially in a remote environment. You will play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization, promoting proactive safety initiatives, and ensuring a continuous improvement approach to aviation safety. Responsibilities include developing and delivering safety training programs, managing safety reporting systems, and ensuring all operational activities meet the highest safety standards. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in aviation safety management, incident analysis, and regulatory compliance. Experience with data analysis and reporting to identify safety trends and risks is essential. This remote role offers the flexibility to manage these vital functions from anywhere in the US, while making a significant contribution to the safety and operational integrity of the company. You will be a key advisor to senior management on all safety-related matters, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of aviation safety best practices. The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and collaborate with a distributed team is paramount. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage the organization's Safety Management System (SMS). Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA). Oversee and conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Lead and manage incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis. Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified safety hazards and risks. Promote and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Develop and deliver comprehensive aviation safety training programs. Manage the safety reporting system and analyze safety data to identify trends. Prepare safety reports for senior management and regulatory bodies. Liaise with regulatory agencies and industry bodies on safety matters. Stay abreast of evolving aviation safety standards and best practices. Collaborate with various departments to integrate safety into all operational activities. Manage a remote team of safety professionals effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in aviation safety management and regulatory compliance. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., FARs, EASA regulations). Proven experience in developing and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS). Strong background in risk management, hazard analysis, and incident investigation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams, especially in a remote setting. Experience with aviation safety software and data analysis tools.
