Senior AI Ethicist and Policy Advisor

Our client is a cutting-edge leader in AI development, seeking a visionary Senior AI Ethicist and Policy Advisor to join their pioneering team. This is a fully remote position, operating at the forefront of responsible AI innovation. You will be instrumental in shaping the ethical framework and policy guidelines for the development and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence systems. This role demands a unique blend of technical understanding, philosophical inquiry, and practical policy expertise to ensure our AI technologies are developed and used in a manner that is fair, transparent, accountable, and beneficial to society. You will work closely with research, engineering, legal, and product teams to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and refine ethical guidelines, principles, and best practices for AI development and deployment. Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for new AI products and features. Advise engineering and product teams on integrating ethical considerations into AI design and implementation. Research and analyze emerging trends and challenges in AI ethics and policy globally. Contribute to the development of internal and external policy positions on AI ethics. Engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and civil society organizations, to foster dialogue on AI ethics. Develop training materials and deliver workshops on AI ethics for internal teams. Author white papers, reports, and presentations on AI ethics and responsible innovation. Monitor regulatory landscapes and advise the company on compliance with evolving AI policies. Champion a culture of ethical awareness and responsibility throughout the organization. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure AI systems meet ethical and legal standards. Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science (with an AI ethics focus), Public Policy, or a related field. 5+ years of experience working on AI ethics, responsible AI, or technology policy. Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, and their societal implications. Proven ability to translate complex ethical concepts into practical guidance for technical teams. Experience in policy analysis, development, and advocacy. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences. Familiarity with global AI governance frameworks and regulatory discussions. Experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment. A strong commitment to promoting ethical and human-centered AI.
