The Amynta Group is seeking an actuarial student with 3+ years of P&C insurance industry experience to join the Advanced Analytics and Actuarial function to maintain, enhance and lead the pricing analyses and advanced analytics of our insurance and warranty businesses. The advanced analytics and actuarial group is a dynamic team that builds insurance pricing models, reserving models, underwriting performance management tools and predictive models. In addition, this team works closely with business leaders to support merger and acquisition due diligence, new business development, insurance carrier relationships and account renewals. The ideal candidates will be quick on their feet, detail-oriented, excited to take on ad hoc projects, able to quickly pivot from one project to another and will adhere to actuarial standards of practice. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Analyze warranty and MGA program profitability and present results to business leaders. Perform pricing studies for new and renewal customers and programs. Support internal financial statement development around loss sensitive elements of the business. Work with the Acquisitions team to perform actuarial due diligence of potential acquisition targets. Collaborate with the Enterprise Data team to build and enhance Amynta's data analytics capabilities. Develop predictive models to enhance and improve client and program pricing. Maintain best practices within the advanced analytics and actuarial group as well as with technology team partners. Streamline processes and encourage efficiency so that the team can focus its energy on projects that add value to the Amynta organization. KEY REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree Required. 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience in reserving, pricing and/or predictive modeling. Successful completion of 3 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams. Steady progress towards ACAS/FCAS designation consistent with years of experience. Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze large data sets to develop business-relevant observations and conclusions and to support decision-making. Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple workstreams with varying timelines and priorities. Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint. Experienced SQL user able to independently query and manipulate large data sets to develop business-relevant observations and conclusions and to support decision-making. Programming skills – R, Python, SAS, other predictive modeling platforms. Experience independently building and interpreting results of Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) is preferred although not required. Experience working with warranty products, workers compensation or other commercial lines of business preferred. Total compensation (base salary & any applicable bonus plan) for this role will depend on several factors including job title, geographical location, relevant experience, credentials, skills and knowledge pertaining to this role and the industry.
