Job Summary:
The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to high-quality instruction and support. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, teachers, and specialists, to provide a safe and engaging learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student.
Provide differentiated instruction and interventions to support diverse learning styles.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve goals.
Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate students into inclusive settings.
Maintain open communication with families to support student learning and well-being.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies related to special education services.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
Valid Washington State teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement.
Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
