Seasonal Intern, Litigation/ESI Department
The Austin office of Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking undergraduate students to intern on a full-time temporary basis in the Litigation/ESIR department. A 4-week minimum commitment is required. The intern, under the supervision of the ESIR Partners, will support and provide assistance with a wide range of assignments in the Litigation/ESIR department. The intern must be flexible to work wherever needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Duties will vary based on departmental assignments and needs.
These may include, but are not limited to, monitoring and summarizing agency agenda meetings, researching and drafting client development-type papers, monitoring CLEs, participating in Mickey Leland Internship activities hosted by TCEQ and participating in agency regulatory opportunities, such as monitoring agency stakeholder meetings or rulemaking public meetings.
Project assignments may also include data entry in various firm systems.
Interns will assist with other tasks, duties and projects as assigned by ESIR Partners.
Qualifications
Some college is required. Interest in studying/pursuing environmental law in the future is a plus.

Must be able to work in a multi-task environment using planning and prioritization skills to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work with a team lead to effectively and successfully complete approved projects.
Must be able to work in a remote, virtual work environment.
Extent of Contact (Within and outside the Firm)
This position requires contact with individuals within the firm as follows:
Extensive daily online contact with lawyers, staff and colleagues across departments.
Physical Demands
Must be able to work at a computer for considerable periods of time.
Position requires extensive telephone use.
Working Condition and Environment
Work is normally performed in a remote work environment.
Must be able to perform essential duties of the position with time constraints and frequent interruptions.
Ability to work well in a high-pressure environment.
