SDWAN and GCP Cloud Network Architect Remote Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SDWAN and GCP Cloud Network Architect to lead the deployment of Cisco Viptela (Catalyst) SDWAN in both Enterprise locations (branches) and into the Google Cloud Platform. The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership, technical expertise, and strategic planning to ensure a seamless transition. SDWAN expertise with Cisco is the minimal skillset. Candidate should also have extensive hands-on experience deploying virtual Cisco SDWAN solutions into GCP as well as extensive GCP networking experience to assist in the development of the GCP design and integration aspects. Responsibilities • Leadership and Documentation: o Provide architectural leadership to define technical requirements and use cases o Lead work sessions to define overall design and integration approach o Provide professional level, accurate, detailed documentation • Technical Expertise: o Hands on experience with Cisco SDWAN design, deployment. and troubleshooting o Expertise in SDWAN Cloud connectivity approaches and best practices solutions o Hands on experience with GCP network design with specific experience integrating Cisco SDWAN into GCP o Expertise in GCP native cloud networking as well as injection of virtual networking into GCP o Expertise in developing a Proof of Concept (POC) for GCP to function as a Hub/Data Center o Expertise developing and executing test plans for both branch and Cloud SDWAN designs • Infrastructure Migration: o Expertise in developing migration approaches and assessing optimal approach for customer o Hands on experience migrating SDWAN into GCP o Ability to work as a team member in site and/or Cloud cutover events o Ability to lead as facilitator during migration events for cutover tasks, troubleshooting and operational handover • Networking: o Significant experience deploying Cisco SDWAN network functionality (2+ engagements) o Significant experience in deploying Cisco SDWAN in GCP (minimum 1 engagement) o At least one network certification in leading vendor technology • Architecture and Design: o Develop a comprehensive blueprint for the network architecture and design. o Gather and document all necessary LAN technical information. o Create detailed architecture and design documents to guide the migration process. Technical Requirements: • Experience: o Proven experience with Cisco SDWAN o In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its networking capabilities. o Experience with SD-WAN solutions, specifically AT&T managed SDWAN solutions • Skills: o Strong architecture background o High level and low-level design expertise, engineering run books, test plans o Excellent documentation and design skills to create detailed and comprehensive architectural plans. GCP Status: The current status of GCP is not yet ready to serve as a Hub/Data Center, and a Proof of Concept (POC) has not been established. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in addressing these gaps and ensuring the readiness of GCP for full-scale operations. Action Items: • Stand up necessary documentation and train the existing team. • Engage experts with SDWAN and GCP experience. • Finalize Cloud Interconnect and Cloud Integration strategies • Establish POC for GCP as a Hub/Data Center. • Develop a detailed Architecture and Design document. Requirements • Must be able to pass a background check. • Have an associate degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or other related discipline (or equivalent work experience). • 3-5 years' experience with Cisco SDWAN.
