Responsibilities...
Support classroom teachers in delivering individualized instruction and implementing educational plans.
Assist students with special needs in both academic and social settings.
Provide one-on-one or small group support, adapting teaching methods to meet students' needs.
Monitor and document student progress, communicating findings to teachers and parents.
Help manage classroom behavior, promoting a positive and productive learning environment.
Participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly with special needs students.
Certification: Must meet Massachusetts Paraprofessional requirements, including one of the following:
A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
An Associates degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Completion of at least two years of college coursework (48 credit hours or more).
Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work well in a team, patience, and flexibility.
Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and any additional district-specific screenings.
