Scheduling/Customer Service Representative

The Scheduling/Customer Service Representative works collaboratively to ensure the accuracy and completeness of scheduled procedures while providing excellent customer service and maintaining clinical knowledge related to scheduling software.ResponsibilitiesWorks collaboratively to ensure accuracy and completeness of scheduled proceduresConsistently obtains accurate demographic information and utilizes system prompts to secure all relevant scheduling informationRequests appropriate comparison films and prior medical records when necessaryAccurately communicates procedure and prep information to patient and physician office staffObtains accurate and valid physician orders for all proceduresConsistently achieves productivity and customer satisfaction goalsDistributes updated department schedules in a timely mannerSchedules reflect complete and accurate clinical informationMaintains current clinical knowledge and skills related to diagnostic procedures and scheduling softwareServes as a departmental receptionist and office assistant as neededPerforms Registrations for patients to include contract registration for Managed Care patients and complete registration for Government PayorsSkillsHigh School Diploma or GED plus one year of related experience or training requiredRequires exceptional customer service and organizational skillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100'sAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsAbility to define problems, collect data or information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to develop independent solutionsPrefer experience in healthcare setting with exposure to patient registration or scheduling, or insurance authorization processesMedical terminology desiredCompany OverviewOur mission is to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve.
