Job Description
This is a remote position.
• Provide saxophone lessons to students, focusing on technique, repertoire, music theory and performance skills.
• Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's individual goals, abilities, and learning styles.
• Evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
• Prepare students for performances, auditions and competitions as needed.
• Encourage and inspire students to develop a love for music and saxophone playing.
• Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding lesson schedules, progress and expectations.
• Stay updated with new teaching methodologies, music trends and saxophone repertoire.
Requirements
Essentials Skills:
• Proficiency in saxophone playing and a strong understanding of music theory.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably with a diverse range of students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their musical goals.
• Patience, flexibility and a passion for teaching music.
• A degree in music or equivalent professional experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):
• Experience in ensemble coaching or conducting.
• Familiarity with various musical styles (Classical, Jazz, Contemporary etc.).
• Knowledge of music technology and its integration into teaching (Recording, Digital Notation etc.).
