SAS/SQL Analyst

ObjectivesWork with team members to learn the current system data, data structures, data flows and data uses for reporting.Support the teams as we work on data analysis and develop a data strategy for future conversion and migration activities.Understand current customer business requirements which will be translated to data mappings for use in data migrations, integration projects or reporting purposes.Work with teams to help design and be responsible for activities of data migration and any data transformation solutions created.Develop a data product that supports reporting requirements.ResponsibilitiesWork with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to implement business logic in a data mart.Perform data analysis writing queries or using other methods to group and report on data types which will produce information to aid in decision making around data migration and conversion strategies.Participate in all aspects of Data migration design, development, maintenance, and support; and establish standards and processes which ensure the reliability of data.Participate in Data Solution Architecture design.Participate in data modeling activities.Perform extract, load, and validation of converted data as needed.Develop pipelines that support a data product for reporting purposes.Develop and maintain functional and technical requirement specifications documentation and issue resolution for Data Migration, Data Transformation and Data IntegrationDevelop solutions in coordination with other IT staff, including Data Migration Analysts, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Infrastructure, and project managers.Maintain project, validation & change control documentation to ensure compliance with Security and Data quality standards.QualificationsMinimum of 3+ years of experience as a technology focused conversion analyst including data migrations, data conversions and data transformationBA/BS Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience in Data management/integration/analysisTechnical proficiency SQL/SQL Server and scripting skills with experience in one or more programming languages to support automation data movement.Experience with SAS Analytics software and R Open Source, REDCap, or other analytics toolsComprehensive understanding of data mapping, data conversionAbility to read and interpret process flow documentation and translate this information into mapping, conversion, or transformation functions.Proficient creating diagrams and process flows in Visio or similar software.Capable of supporting solution testing efforts by developing test plans, preparing test environments, performing test execution, and validating test results with metrics/queriesStrong technical problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex issues and share information with attention to detail and accuracy.Experience on projects with complex data migration needs and system-to-system integrations.Experience with software project lifecycles, and ability to apply various development methodologies i.e., Scrum/Agile, Waterfall, etc. to work deliverables.Experience in healthcare, scientific research and clinical trials is preferred.Experience working with databases and familiarity of the HL7 standards is preferred.Experience with Data Warehouse conceptsExperience with cloud technologies such as AWS or AzureKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesHighly organized, strategic, and action-oriented thinkerAbility to determine priorities daily to achieve business objectives.Must exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, and openness.Strong facilitation, collaboration, multi-tasking, and organization skills.Passion for data accuracy and completeness.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders in technology and business operations.Ability to use influence to drive outcomes and decisions.Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships, including the ability to resolve difficult and/or sensitive issues.
