About this Position:
Job Title: SAS/R Statistical Programmer
Responsibilities:
ā¢ User Support: Guides the community in using Business Intelligence (BI) and OLAP tools for data extraction and reporting.
ā¢ Query Optimization: Reviews and modifies queries to resolve performance issues and ensure system efficiency.
ā¢ Report Development: Participates in designing reports and creating comprehensive user documentation.
ā¢ System Maintenance: Monitors usage, manages tool upgrades, and ensures the security and interoperability of front-end components.
ā¢ Data Oversight: Coordinates metadata, supports production systems, and applies data modeling and architectural methodologies.
ā¢ Economic Research: Applies economic theory and quantitative methods to analyze labor market dynamics and workforce trends.
ā¢ Advanced Analytics: Utilizes econometrics and predictive modeling to forecast employment needs and identify key trends.
ā¢ Policy Evaluation: Assesses the impact of workforce programs to provide evidence-based recommendations for decision-makers.
ā¢ Technical Communication: Translates complex data into actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and stakeholder presentations.
ā¢ Project Management: Leads research projects independently while collaborating with state agencies and industry partners.

Knowledge
ā¢ Principles of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and labor economics.
ā¢ Knowledge of the policies established in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
ā¢ Knowledge of State's WIOA implementation and the 2021 REACH Act.
ā¢ Statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, Python) and data visualization tools.
ā¢ Survey design and sampling methodologies.

Staff Qualification:
ā¢ Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or;
ā¢ Equivalent work experience (A minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience, including five (5) years of experience in business intelligence tools and systems, and/or five (5) years of experience with economic and/or statistical analysis).
