Baer is seeking an SAP Release Manager / Program Chief Engineer Consultants Location: Remote Duration: 24 months Rate: Hourly Plus Expenses Reimbursed Alignment: W2 or C2C Project Overview We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team for a large-scale, enterprise-wide project for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The project is focused on modernizing and optimizing core business functions by implementing, sustaining, and upgrading a major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Key Responsibilities Agile Development and Delivery: You will be responsible for developing and delivering new software solutions and capabilities. Our approach leverages a capacity-based Agile and DevSecOps framework to ensure high-velocity delivery. System Sustainment: The role includes providing sustainment services corrective, adaptive, perfective, and preventive to maintain the health and performance of the ERP system modules. Enterprise Implementation: You will help fully implement the ERP system across the organization to manage critical functions like financial data, human resources, and supply chain. Technical Environment: This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the latest technologies, including SAP ERP Central Component (ECC)/HANA and SAP S-4/HANA . Strategic Focus: Business Process Transformation & "Clean Core" This project is not just a technical implementation; it's a business process transformation . We are tasked with analyzing and aligning specific DoD agency business processes related to financial management, asset management, and human resources. The challenge is to optimize these processes and integrate them into the new ERP system. Our approach is centered on the "clean core" principle . This means we are committed to using standard, configurable software solutions with minimal customization to the commercial SAP product. Your work will involve leveraging standard functions to meet unique DoD requirements, rather than relying on custom code. This strategy makes the system easier to upgrade, more stable, and more cost-effective to maintain in the long term, placing us at the forefront of modern ERP practices. Qualifications & Requirements We are seeking skilled professionals who are passionate about using technology to drive efficiency and transformation. Ideal candidates will have experience with SAP , Agile/DevSecOps , and large-scale enterprise system implementation.
