Job Type: Full Time Job Category: IT Job Description Job Title: SAP Data Engineer (BRIM + FICO + Core SAP) Location – Remote Contract/Fulltime JOB SUMMARY The SAP Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and integrations across Vericence’s SAP ecosystems, with a strong emphasis on SAP BRIM, SAP FICO, and core SAP modules. This role requires a blend of enterprise-grade data engineering skills and deep SAP functional/technical understanding, enabling the creation of reliable, scalable, and compliant datasets that support billing, invoicing, payment operations, financial reconciliation, and advanced analytics. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Billing, Payments, Procurement, Architecture, and Enterprise Data Engineering teams to ensure accurate, governed, and trusted SAP data delivery for downstream analytics and operational decision-making. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Data Engineering Responsibilities • Build, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for SAP data ingestion using SQL, Python, and modern data engineering tools. • Develop curated data models, semantic layers, and analytical datasets for Finance, Billing, and Operational teams. • Implement data quality rules, reconciliation logic, lineage tracking, and governance frameworks. • Integrate SAP data with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and enterprise data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks). • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness for financial and billing data. • Support SOX, HIPAA, and internal data-security requirements. SAP-Specific Responsibilities SAP BRIM (Required) Experience working with BRIM billing processes and data, including: • Convergent Charging (CC) • Convergent Invoicing (CI) • Subscription Order Management (SOM) • Usage events, rating logic, billing cycles • Partner payments, settlements, and correspondence • Highly customized invoicing processes • Mapping BRIM billing flows into downstream analytics environments SAP FICO (Required) • Work with financial postings, reconciliations, and payment lifecycle data. • Extract and model FI/CO data including GL, AR, AP, cash application, company code, and cost center structures. • Build financial datasets supporting period close, profitability, and audit/compliance reporting. Core SAP Modules (Required) • Work with SAP ECC/S/4HANA tables, CDS views, IDocs, BAPIs, and extraction frameworks. • Support datasets related to SD, MM, Procurement, Billing, Customer, and Contract objects. • Build SAP-to-Cloud ingestion strategies using SLT, BODS, CPI, Qlik Replicate, Fivetran, ADF, or similar tools. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Required • 7+ years of data engineering experience (SQL, Python, ETL/ELT patterns). • 5+ years of experience extracting and modeling data from SAP ECC or S/4HANA. • 3+ years working directly with SAP FICO datasets. • Hands-on technical exposure to SAP BRIM billing processes and data models. • Experience with cloud ingestion and orchestration tools such as: o Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Composer o Qlik Replicate, SLT, Fivetran, SAP BODS • Strong understanding of financial systems, billing invoicing payments data flows, and reconciliation logic. • Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery). Preferred • Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance). • Knowledge of SAP BW/BW4HANA or SAP Datasphere. • Experience with ARIBA procurement data (nice to have). • Familiarity with SOX/HIPAA data-control requirements. • Experience supporting highly customized SAP BRIM billing landscapes.
