Brief role summary: Responsible for driving sales of scientific goods and offerings within a specified segment/territory, catering to clients involved in manufacturing, research and development, and laboratory testing. Maintains effective customer relations, develops and drives opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. Location: This is an outside sales role, covering a Philadelphia territory. Residency within daily commuting distance of the territory is required. No relocation assistance provided. Your responsibilities: • Develop a rounded understanding of the value proposition of Fisher Scientific and Thermo Fisher Scientific and its products specific to the market segment. • Acquire knowledge of pricing dynamics in your region and apply this knowledge to improve profitability. • Achieve or exceed the territory sales (revenue & margin) plan by maintaining current business, encouraging additional business in existing accounts, and contacting to new accounts through cold calls. • Develop and implement sales strategies to reach or surpass revenue targets. • Foster and nurture strong customer relationships, ensuring outstanding service. • Build business knowledge relevant to the region, including competitor activity. • Implement sales plans and strategies aligned with company goals and initiatives • Apply SalesForce.com and other tools for managing a strong pipeline and customer relationships. Keep all reporting tools accurate and up to date with business activities including; competitor activity, promotions etc. • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services. • Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, transacting improved terms whenever possible to enhance the company's profitability. • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at industry events and conferences to enhance company visibility and network with key stakeholders. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. • Strong organizational and time management abilities. • Valid Driver's License • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software like SalesForce.com. • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time to engage with customers and attend meetings. • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment, balancing multiple priorities. • A confident and polished demeanour, excelling in diverse customer interactions. • Adherence to high ethical standards, completing all elements of personal administration including, personal expenses; ensure detail is accurate and in line with company procedures.
