Ideal candidates are self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Director to help lead our utility-scale efforts. This individual will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a proven track record in solar or renewable energy sales, and exceptional leadership skills. Ideal candidates must be willing to travel roughly 25% of the time for client meetings, company off-sites, conferences, and other potential events. Focus will be on the Mid Atlantic, North East and Mid West regions.ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy and Execution:Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets for utility-scale solar projects. Identify and pursue new market opportunities, leveraging industry trends and insights. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, finance, and project development) to deliver competitive proposals. Client Relationships and Business Development:Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, developers, EPCs, and financiers. Lead negotiations for large-scale power purchase agreements (PPAs), offtake agreements, and project sales. Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings. Leadership and Team Development:Collaborate with a high-performing sales team, fostering a results-driven and team culture. Market Intelligence and Reporting:Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and policy developments affecting utility-scale solar. Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and key performance metrics to executive leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with the project development and engineering teams to align sales goals with project timelines and technical capabilities. Collaborate with the finance team to structure competitive and profitable deals. QualificationsExperience: 10+ years of sales or business development experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years focused on utility-scale solar. Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Skills:Proven ability to close large-scale, complex deals. Strong understanding of utility-scale solar technologies, project financing, and regulatory frameworks. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and support project development efforts, company off-sites, conferences, and other potential events.
