What You Will Do...
As a Sales Associate in Inside Lawn & Garden at Lowe's, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked department. This means:
Ā Providing Expert Assistance: Assisting customers with selecting plants, lawn care products, gardening tools, and other related items, ensuring they receive the best solutions for their gardening and lawn care projects.
Ā Maintaining Product Knowledge: Staying informed about the latest lawn and garden products, plant care techniques, and seasonal trends to provide accurate information and recommendations.
Ā Processing Transactions: Accurately processing sales transactions, validating loading tickets, and ensuring timely delivery of merchandise.
Ā Engaging in Safe Practices: Promoting and adhering to safe work practices, and encouraging others to do the same to maintain a safe shopping environment.
Ā Ensuring Customer Satisfaction: Listening to customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
Ā Help customers with plant selection, lawn care products, and gardening tools.
Ā Provide product information and recommendations based on customer needs.
Ā Maintain knowledge of plant care, gardening techniques, and lawn maintenance.
Ā Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
Ā Validate loading tickets and ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
Ā Stock shelves and maintain the lawn and garden department's cleanliness and organization
Ā Assist customers in locating products and answer questions regarding usage.
Ā Promote and practice safe work habits to ensure a safe shopping environment.
Ā Report any safety or security concerns to management.
What We're Looking For:
Ā Hourly Full-Time or Part-Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours per week for full-time or up to 25 hours per week for part-time; more hours may be required based on store needs.
Ā Availability: Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
Ā Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
Ā Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
What You Need To Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
Ā 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
Ā 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ā Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ā 6 months of sales experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including add-on sales and explaining product features and benefits.
Ā 6 months of retail experience providing customer service, including resolving customer issues and assisting customers in locating products.
Ā Certification in trade related to the department (e.g., horticulture, landscaping).
Ā Bi-lingual skills, if applicable to the store.
