Job Description

Sales & Catering Manager

This position is responsible for the management of accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals (i.e., room nights, ADR, RevPAR, catering, room rental, etc.) are achieved or exceeded. The position will lead the development and solicitation of group business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel. This position performs catering sales duties and aids in managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all catering revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. This position is responsible for booking events, creating banquet event orders, contracts and finalizing function details. In addition to catering duties, this person will also be responsible for coordinating wedding and special event business.

What You’ll Do:
• Conduct property site tours and promote all hotel services to current and prospective clients.
• Manage account details and ensure proper documentation from solicitation through closing.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless service and client satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate sales files, correspondence, and departmental records.
• Respond to client inquiries via phone and email in a timely, professional manner.
• Make local and out-of-town sales calls; attend trade shows and set up exhibits to generate leads.
• Host and entertain potential clients as appropriate to secure business.
• Order amenities for VIPs and meeting planners as needed.
• Actively participate in community and industry events to increase hotel visibility.
• Keep leadership informed of any significant issues or developments.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and applicable laws while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
• Support the hotel’s positive public image at all times.

About You:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, catering, or hotel operations preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2- or 4-year college degree is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to coordinate tasks and manage scheduling effectively.
• Proficient in basic math and capable of accurate financial calculations.
• Analytical thinker with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards required.
• Ability to conduct property site inspections and attend industry trade shows as needed.
• Active participation in relevant professional organizations as directed.
• Must be flexible to perform other duties as assigned, including participation in the Manager on Duty program.
