This is an exceptional opportunity for an experiences safety professional. This opportunity is fully in-office during training.Job Functions and Responsibilities
Evaluate and opine on standard of care of safety professionals, primarily in the retail and/or hospitality space
Assess responsibility for incidents/injuries which have occurred
Conduct site evaluations of industrial, retail, commercial and public facilities for workplace hazards in compliance with OSHA, ANSI, state and local regulations
Conduct site evaluations of industrial, retail commercial and public facilities for hazards to the public in compliance with ADA, state and local regulations
Conducts incident investigations to identify root cause(s) of incidents
Evaluate multi-employer work sites and duties and responsibilities for safety assigned to each entity
Review contract documents for evaluation of work site safety programs and assess the program quality
Utilize industry experience and certifications to present safety training to insurance carriers, companies, law firms and municipalities
Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients and relay analysis in layman's terms
Provide safety related expert testimony in legal proceedings including deposition and trial
Prepare and submit written reports that document failure(s), extent of loss, and cause(s)
Explain to clients, in layman's terms, your investigation, analysis and what you determined to be the cause of the incident/failure
Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending company-paid educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; establish personal networks and participating in professional societies
Stay informed of new federal and state laws and assesses new developments in health and safety field
Regular and predictable presence at work
Ability to take and integrate constructive feedback
Responsible for retention and development of client relations
Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance
Ability to work independently and to collaborate with colleagues based on company and client needs
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree, Engineering, Risk Management or Safety-related field
Experience as a Safety Manager for a hotel, grocery or retail chain is highly preferred
Certified Safety Professional or other relevant certifications
Minimum of seven (7) years of post-academic experience in the recognition, evaluation, correction and control of hazardous conditions
Retail/Warehouse experience a plus
Public speaking experience a plus
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Physical Requirements:
10 - 15% travel
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to climb a ladder and maneuver in and on buildings and structures
Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spaces
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to drive in all conditions
Ability to fly on airplanes
Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts
Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
Ability to learn a new industry and obtain required certifications
Ability to carry equipment to and from job sites
