SaaS Startup Technical Operations Lead (Freelance, 20 hrs/week)
About the Role
ArtemisAI is seeking a hands-on Technical Operations Lead to help bring our MVP to life and support our early backend infrastructure. This is a freelance, part-time role (~20 hours/week) during pre-launch and early product iterations.
You’ll lead backend systems design and coordinate technical implementation across our customer-facing Advisor tool, reporting logic, backend database integration, and automation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead backend architecture and systems setup for our MVP
• Integrate a licensed skincare ingredient database (via API or CSV)
• Recommend backend tools (automation, data flow, version tracking, PDF reporting, etc.)
• Coordinate backend functionality with UI/UX design (forms, logic, user inputs, outputs)
• Support both consumer and white-label user flows
• Recommend tactical resourcing and delegate build tasks where needed
• Establish scalable backend specifications that integrate with creative and automation workflows
• Implement basic system backups and failure alerts; scope long-term needs for redundancy and failover
Tools & Tech Expectations
• No-code/low-code stacks (automation, logic, data flow)
• API and webhook setup
• Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.)
• Reporting frameworks (e.g., PDF or lightweight dashboards)
• CRM systems and email workflows
• Secure data storage and usage analytics
• Payment and user-facing transaction flows
• Backup/version control systems
Qualifications
• 5+ years in technical operations, backend systems, or automation roles
• Experience with consumer-facing SaaS MVPs
• Familiarity with integrating third-party or licensed databases
• Strong collaboration with UI/UX and creative leads
• Clear communication and async-friendly work style
• Approximately 20 hours per week availability
• US-based or similar time zone preferred
