As a Front End Developer at WhatConverts, you will work closely with the Marketing and Product teams for implementing and maintaining the user interface of our website and application. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate who aims to understand the end user and improve their experience. This is a fully-remote, full-time position (40 hours per week). In this role you'll get to: • Build new web pages, optimize existing ones, maintain the backend health of the site, and maintain/update themes, plugins, and security updates. • Collaborate with UX/Product designers to translate wireframes and mock-ups into functional and visually appealing web pages. • Ensure that our website is responsive and optimized for search engines. • Continually improve standard web metrics and SEO (i.e., time to paint, page load speed, etc.) • Develop, maintain, and optimize modern user interfaces for our application using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies. • Implement, use and maintain WhatConverts Website Design System and Components Library. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new front-end web development technologies and apply them to enhance the usability and efficiency of the website. What we're looking for: • Highly proficient in HTML, CSS, HTML5 and and JavaScript • Ability to construct modern and clean designs that focus on content • Expert knowledge of responsive websites using CSS preprocessors like Less, Sass. • Experience with architectural work involving performance optimization with SEO. • Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues, client-side performance considerations, and CDN caching strategies. • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail • 3-5 years of experience in Wordpress web development manipulating and fully customizing CMS themes • 2+ years of experience implementing and maintaining Components Libraries and/or Design Systems. • 2+ years of experience working with a modern frontend stack (JS, React, etc.) Company Benefits/Perks: • Remote first company - we believe in breaking down barriers of bureaucracy and empowering our remote team members to work agilely to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time. • Immediate impact - the moment you join our team we hand you the reins to work on projects independently and make a direct impact. • Health/Wellness - we offer three tiers of premium medical insurance, vision insurance, and dental insurance - with WhatConverts covering 100% of the premium for individual plans!!
