The Senior Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst position is a subject matter expert or supervisor level position responsible for designing, building, and testing application solutions. Senior Systems Analyst supports the following functions: Patient Revenue Systems, Quality Assurance, and Change Management. This position works with end users, and or leads a team of systems analysts to gather application specifications; creates detailed design specifications; documents change requests; builds application solutions using development tools; documents and executes test cases, and debugs applications. This position has active involvement in release management, software configuration & change management, end-user training, and technical documentation associated with various applications, such as revenue cycle applications or corporate systems, in both company corporate offices and remote hospital facilities. Although this position performs all of the functions of an entry-level systems analyst, this role manages vendor relationships, supervises and develops employees, leads complex application development projects, and ensures regulatory compliance. Responsibilities • Works with end users and/or leading a team of systems analysts to gather application specifications. • Designs, builds, configures and tests software systems and solutions. • Assesses current revenue cycle workflows and identifies areas for improvement through system optimization. • Investigates and resolves system errors equivalent to level 3 support. • Creates detailed design specifications. • Builds application solutions using development tools. • Creates Business Intelligence reports and maintains BI software solutions. • Documents and executes test cases. • Debugs applications. • Participates in release management, software configuration & change management. • Mentors entry and mid-level analysts. • Conducts end-user training and technical documentation associated with various applications such as revenue cycle applications or corporate systems at corporate and hospitals. • Leads moderate and complex projects and project tasks. • Participates in on-call schedule. • Organizes, plans, and manages time. Requirements • Valid state driver's license. • Associate's degree recommended. • Minimum 5 years of experience. • Expertise in systems development life cycle for packaged applications. • Business requirements definition and documentation. • Common system and user acceptance testing procedures. • Release management. • Change management. • End user training execution and documentation. • Expertise with regulatory compliance: HIPAA, Medicare, CMS, Sarbanes-Oxley, Privacy and Security. Nice-to-haves • Technical Certifications, such as MCAD (Microsoft Certified Application Developer) and MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer). • Health Care industry expertise in one or more of the following: Medical billing, Health care provider revenue cycle, Clinical coding, Financial management.
