CORE VALUES: Passion for Excellence :: Success is Never Final :: Do the Right Thing :: One Alerus ABOUT THE ROLE: This position is responsible for accurate and timely processing, oversight and training of complex employee benefit plan transactions according to documents and internal procedures under minimal supervision. This person will have strong knowledge of systems, enabling them to answer ARB staff questions. This person will exhibit strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment quickly and accurately. The person in this position will be self-motivated and will be one of the main contacts in the processing area. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: Working with limited supervision, processing complex account sets. May include non-qualified plans, special handled funds, stock processing, specific client accounts, stop payments and other unique situations. Monitor workflows and back up all other positions as needed, including processing and check handling. Identify efficiencies and process improvements that enhance the client experience and build scale, assisting with planning, development and implementation. Be an active resource for the team by understanding all team functions and responsibilities, assisting when and where needed. Provide quality, accurate and timely responses to escalated inquiries from external and internal clients, maintain positive working relationships and open lines of communication. Assist with system upgrades, conversion, acquisition, deconversion, and projects that affect the area. WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial or retirement operations. Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience in the financial industry. Proven record of working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks & deadlines. Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent analytical and problem-solving orientation and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with employees and clients. Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize workflow of self and coordinate activity as an effective team member to meet deadlines and make effective decisions under pressure. Strong passion for internal and external client satisfaction, creative and consistently maintains a positive attitude. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
