Retail Pharmacy Technician Job Responsibilities:
Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.
Cleans equipment and maintains all required temperature logs according to system policies and procedures.
Checks medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, removes products from inventory and works with the appropriate resource to record out of date products in the Expiring Medication log book.
Performs computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to, patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
Prepares medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.
Additional Requirements:
Work schedule: 24-hrs per week. Shifts vary (days/evenings rotating shift. Every other weekend). Every weekend preferred!! MUST BE FLEXIBLE. Hours of operation Monday to Friday 9am -7pm; Saturday & Sunday 11am-5pm.
Education: High School or GED.
Experience: One (1) year Retail Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.
