Research Coordinator I - Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences
Summary
The Research Coordinator will manage day-to-day activities for research studies on in the Department of Psychiary and Behavioral Sciences, specifically studies relating to Bipolar Disorder (BD), a recurrent neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by wide fluctuations in mood, energy, and activity. This role involves participant screening, enrollment, data collection, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance throughout the research process.
Job Duties
ā¢ Interview, screen, and recruit individuals for study participation.
ā¢ Educate participants on study processes, procedures, and expectations, ensuring informed consent and understanding.
ā¢ Maintain ongoing communication with participants throughout the study.
ā¢ Collect, process, and organize participant information and study data. Enter data into study databases with accuracy and attention to detail.
ā¢ May perform venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs/ECGs, and obtain vital signs as required by the protocol. Training in these skills may be provided if necessary.
ā¢ Handle, process, and ship biological specimens (e.g., blood samples) following protocol guidelines.
ā¢ Maintain regulatory documents, records, and compliance logs for studies.
ā¢ Ensure proper documentation of all study activities and data.
ā¢ Schedule study-related procedures such as lab tests, imaging, or other assessments specified in the protocol.
ā¢ Retrieve and deliver test results to investigators or other appropriate parties.
ā¢ Monitor participant adherence to study protocols and follow up as needed.
ā¢ Order and maintain research supplies and equipment.
ā¢ Collaborate with the research team to ensure the smooth execution of studies.
ā¢ Perform additional duties as assigned to support the research objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
ā¢ High School diploma or GED.
ā¢ Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, biology, or a related field.
ā¢ Prior experience in psychiatric or neuropsychiatric research.
ā¢ Strong organizational and communication skills.
ā¢ Familiarity with clinical research procedures and regulatory requirements.
ā¢ Proficiency in data entry and database management systems.
