About the position The position is for a part-time Associate Research Attorney or Law Student at a plaintiff personal injury law firm in Saint Clair Shores, MI. The role focuses on conducting legal research and drafting legal documents for circuit and appellate courts, particularly in personal injury cases involving auto accidents, slip and fall incidents, and workers' compensation matters. Responsibilities • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis. • Assist attorneys with case preparation by compiling relevant case law and statutes. • Analyze legal documents and summarize findings for review. • Support litigation efforts by gathering evidence and preparing reports. • Collaborate with team members on various legal projects and initiatives. • Maintain organized records of research findings and documentation. • Stay updated on current legal trends and changes in legislation relevant to assigned areas of law. Requirements • Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research database - Lexis-Nexis. • Ability to analyze complex legal information and present it clearly. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
